"It's a Pet aFair 2010" WHO: Pet Wow aka Highland Heights Animal Hospital is sponsoring “It’s A Pet aFair"! This is the Pet Fair's 6th year. Any and all pets and owners are invited to attend. WHAT: This is a one day event/festival for owners and their pets. All proceeds from this event will go to Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) here in Northern Ky. WHEN: Saturday April 24, 2010 from Noon to 4:00 PM WHERE: Gil Lynn Park, 201 Green Devil Lane, Dayton, Ky WHY: To help educate owners about their pets and to let them know what rescues and resources that are available to pet owners when they want to adopt a pet or when they can now longer keep one. We want to help teach everyone responsible pet ownership and give you a fun fulled family day at the park.
HIGHLIGHTS Sheree Palello, from Channel 5, and Cyndee O'Quinn from WCPO channel 9 will be Grand Marshalls for our pet parade. Entry is $5 per pet. You and your pet can win prizes for different categories. Most Handsome Best Owner/pet look alike Best theme Most Glamorous Funniest Scariest Best Jr. Handler 10 and under Best Jr. Handler 11-16 Best OTHER species costume. Parade registration starts at 1. Parade starts at 3. Come be part of the fun! Highland Heights K9 Police will hold a Demo at 1:00 PM. Campbell County Search and Rescue will hold a demo. Dr. Meakin and the Stray Dog Band will be performing. Donetta Zimmerman, pet psychic will be doing pet readings. Onsite Microchip clinic (Home Again Microchips), Heartworm testing for dogs, and FIV and Feline Leukemia testing for cats.All cats must arrive in the saftey of a carrier. Food concession. (All at an additional fee.) A large Raffle to benefit the SAAP Program. There will be pet vendors, booths and educational seminars on pet care. NEW THIS YEAR:Fly Ball! What’s flyball? It’s a breakneck speed dog relay race – four top canine athletes per team, racing over four hurdles to retrieve a tennis ball out of a spring loaded box, and then bringing it back to their handlers. Any ball-crazy dog can learn flyball and it’s great fun to watch. Reeking Havoc Flyball Come and meet dog, cat, bird, reptile, small animal and wildlife rescues. Free admission to the pet fair.
